Hi, I’m Laura Wallace.

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in San Antonio, and I work with individuals, couples, and families. My practice combines clinical work with supervision for LMFT interns and associates pursuing licensure in Texas. I also collaborate with attorneys and other professionals, when appropriate and authorized by my clients.

My clinical approach draws on systemic, strategic, and Gestalt therapy, along with specialized training in trauma response. I help clients see the family-of-origin patterns, attachment fears, and long-held beliefs that drive how they respond under pressure, so they can move through high-conflict situations with more clarity and stability.

Before San Antonio, I founded and led Twin Lakes Counseling in Federal Way, Washington, and served as Core Faculty in the Couple and Family Therapy program at Antioch University Seattle. I hold a PhD from St. Mary's University in San Antonio and a master's degree from Southern Connecticut State University. I'm an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and a recipient of the AAMFT Minority Fellowship, and I've served on the Board of Trustees of the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. My research focuses on where mental health and education meet, especially removing the mental health barriers that affect academic achievement for low-income and minority students. I look forward to working with you!
